Dark and Sleepless Nights

This is the very first article that I've written about my personal life. I am not gonna lie and say 'Oh yeah, I've always wanted to do this', because it took me so long to come to the conclusion that it is okay to share my experience with my readers. I fell in love for the first time this year, he was not my first boyfriend, but he was definitely my first love. We had a very silent breakup. There was no fighting, no yelling and definitely no pointing fingers but that doesn't mean that there was no heartbreak, because I can one hundred percent assure you that there was, on my part at least.

I did not want to give up on my relationship with him. Ever since school started, there was this palpable space that kept getting bigger and bigger between us. I tried to stop it, but the only way to close that space was for us two to work together and put the same amount of effort in our relationship. In my view, I had put so much effort already but he wasn't doing the same. But of course, during that time, I was too blind to see it. Well.. probably not. Maybe I just tried to ignore it. I just kept telling myself that he probably just wanted to spend more time with his friends and family, because we pretty much spent the whole summer together. But a week would pass without us talking. Before that, it would usually be him who would start the conversation with his good morning messages, but it all stopped. We were not able to stop the space, it only got bigger and before we became aware of it, there was already a wall that kept getting higher and higher, thicker and thicker.

I sent him a message one night confronting him about the space and the lack of communication between us. I told him maybe we should take a break. I never wanted to break up with him, I honestly thought he would fight for me and tell me 'no'. I waited and waited, but I never got that.

The very first week of the breakup was the hardest. There was so many tears shed in the dark and sleepless nights. I could not focus on anything even in school, because I kept waiting for him to text me and tell me he still wanted to be with me. Every morning, I would wake up, and the very first thing I would do was check my phone to see if he changed his mind. I feel like there are still a lot of unanswered questions, but the questions are still unknown and hidden in the back of my mind not wanting to be asked.

I am very lucky that I have friends who made sure I was okay every day during those dark times, who would listen to me, who would just let me cry when I needed to and who were willing to sacrifice their time to hang out with me because I was feeling lonely. They never got tired of the same questions I always asked them, ''When will I be okay?'' ''When will I move on?'' ''When will I be able to let go?'' They would always give me the answers I needed to hear.

Letting go is definitely the hardest part of any breakup. It does not matter if you were the one who broke up with the other person, or you were the one who got dumped, it's still a change in your life. You are so used to talking to him every single day and every single second but that all suddenly stops. Every morning you wake up and check your phone but you instantly realise that you will not find any messages from him because it's over between you two. It might be hard in the first few weeks or months, but I can promise you that it will get better soon.

1.) Surround Yourself with True Friends

My friends definitely helped me get over the break up and be my true self again. They were always there for me, I could just call them whenever I'm feeling down and they would always cheer me up.

2.) Be Sad

If you're sad be sad, if you want to cry, then cry. Listen to Adele's songs, because that was definitely one of the things I did. Sometimes all you really need is a good cry and to let it all out.  Maybe a good movie and a Ben & Jerry's ice cream will make you feel better.

3.) Stay Away

I know I said 'if you're sad be sad', but after a week of that make sure you stop and start to focus on positive things. And yes, take a break from listening to Adele's songs. I'm pretty sure Adele will understand!

4.) Be Busy

You've probably heard this already, but it is true. You might find it hard at the beginning because focusing is just not your thing at the moment, but once you're really, really busy and there are things that need to be done, you will just find yourself thinking and realising that you have not thought about them.

5.) Be YOURSELF

No matter how much the person you love hurts you, never ever lose who you are. LOVE YOURSELF. It's not selfish to take care and love yourself. Choose happiness, be happy with yourself. Before looking for another person, make sure you are truly happy. Happiness comes from within, not from someone else.

London #3 | Travel Diary

For our last day in London, my friend and I decided to try the Emirates Air Line. The Emirates Air Line crosses the River Thames between Greenwich Peninsula and the Royal Docks. We then travel to Stratford to meet up with my uncle and our friend. We decided to go to Westfield in White City, London to go and look for a dress I could wear for the 18th birthday we would be attending after our London trip. But, while we were on our way I saw a sign that says 'Notting Hill'. I am a HUGE fan of the movie, I mean, who isn't right? I have always wanted to go to Notting Hill and go to the locations where they shoot the film and our friend found out how obsessed I am with the film, and how I have always wanted to go there.

Instead of going straight to Westfield we decided to stop and walk around Notting Hill. We didn't really have much time to go to all the locations so we picked one. We decided to go to the library. Going to Notting Hill was never part of the plan, but it definitely was the highlight of my London trip. Notting Hill was such a beautiful place, and I would one hundred percent go back. After walking around the place, we took a bus to go to Westfield. We had lunch before I started looking for a dress, it took me so long to find a dress that I like. I got the dress in New Look. We all went back to the apartment after to rest before driving back to North Wales. We left London at 1:00 am, and arrived at my uncle's place around 6:00 am.

This is the last article of my UK travel diary. Thank you for reading, and I hope you all liked it!

London #2 | Travel Diary

During our first night in London, I booked myself a ticket for the London Eye (also known as the Millennium Wheel), the London eye is the biggest Ferris wheel in Europe. I would totally recommend you to try it if it is your first time in London. The ticket that I booked was just a normal one, I thought I wouldn't need to queue up if I booked my ticket online. This is because while I was booking it, it made me choose a time so I thought I just need to show up on time and then it would be all good. But, obviously I was wrong. The queue was so long and it was so hot, so it was either I upgrade my ticket or just forget about it. I really really want to try and experience it, so I upgraded my ticket.

We went to see the Tower Bridge after. We were all tired after all the walking we did so after taking pictures, we sat down and bought drinks and snacks. We then continued on with our journey, and went to King's Cross Station to see Platform 3/4. I've watched all the Harry Potter movies so I was so excited to take pictures. My whole family is obsessed with the Harry Potter films too, so I was a little upset that they weren't there with me. After taking so many pictures and walking around the Harry Potter shop at King's Cross Station, we decided to go to Harrods. I got my mum a green Harrods shoulder bag. We spent so much time walking around Harrods that we forgot to check the time. It was already too late for us to go anywhere, so we headed back to the apartment and had dinner.

London #1 | Travel Diary

LIVE. LOVE. LONDON.

Hey wonderful people!

I have always wanted to go to London since I was a little kid, and my uncle made that dream come true. I went to London with my uncle and my cousin. Like Scotland, we drove almost five hours to arrive to our destination. We left North Wales before lunch, we brought so much food with us so we only stopped for coffee and to use the toilet. My cousin and I wanted Starbucks but the first service that we stopped by only had Costa.

We arrived in London early evening. When we got to the apartment, my cousin and his friend took me to see the Olympic Stadium. The stadium is situated in Stratford, London. The place was so peaceful and relaxing, if I live near the place I would probably go there as much as I could just to walk around the place. I was supposed to stay in the UK only for a week, but I decided to extend my trip for one more week. My uncle and his family got invited to attend an eighteenth birthday party, and they wanted me to go with them. I did not bring any formal clothes so after walking around outside the Olympic Stadium, we went to a shopping centre before going back to the apartment. I tried looking for a dress, but all the dresses I liked were all too big for me. I forgot to take pictures during my first night in London because I was so tired.

We wanted to do as much as we could on our second day. The very first thing we did was travel to the famous Buckingham Palace. It was amazing to see how many people were there waiting for the guards to change, it was a really good experience to see the changing of the guards even though it was so hot. After Buckingham Palace we took the underground train to go to M&M's World. Oh My God! The only word that comes to my head when I think of the place is heaven. There were so many people inside the shop, and the smell was AMAZING.

There will be three articles about my London trip, and this is the very first one.

Edinburgh, Scotland | Travel Diary

Hey wonderful people! How are you all?

In case you don't know I was in the UK last month, I stayed at my uncle's place in North Wales. I went to Scotland with my uncle and his friends, we were there for three days and two nights. We drove almost five hours to get to our destination (Edinburgh). We left very early, and we arrived before lunch. We, firstly, dropped our bags to the hotel, and took a taxi to Waverley Bridge. I thought the name of the place was so cool, because it reminded me of Wizards of Waverly Place and it definitely was one of my favourite TV shows growing up.

As any tourists would do, we went around the spectacular town with the Edinburgh tour bus. The weather was so good at the beginning the sun was so bright but during the middle of the tour it started raining. I couldn't help myself but think about my parents during the tour. My parents have always wanted to go to Scotland but they really don't have the time, they are always busy with work. I was so amaze how breathtaking the whole city was. The tour lasted approximately one hour.

After the bus tour we went inside a shopping centre called Waverley Mall. We ate lunch, and walked around the mall and did a little bit of shopping. When we decided to leave the mall it was way too early for us to go back to the hotel so we walked around town and did some shopping again. We were getting tired, probably because we woke up really early and drove almost five hours, so we decided to go to Princes Street Gardens to relax and enjoy the sun. After an hour of relaxing we decided to head back to the hotel.

For our second day, we spent the whole day in a basketball court. We went back to the hotel to freshen up and get ready for dinner. Before dinner, we decided to walk around more. My uncle took us to Calton Hill, the view from up there was amazing. We had Nando's for dinner, and as expected it was delicious. We went back to the hotel, and slept early. For our third day, after breakfast we packed our things and got ready to leave the hotel. Before driving back to North Wales, we stopped at a souvenir shop and I bought things for my parents and relatives back here in Ireland.

The trip would have been more fun if my parents and brother were there with me exploring the wonderful town.

North Wales | Travel Diary

Hey guys! I just recently got back from my holiday, it was totally unexpected. Before school ended I thought I was just going to stay here in Ireland. Two months ago my dad's cousin and his family from Wales came to Dublin for the weekend and stayed with us. He talked to me and told me to get my parents to let me visit them in the UK. My parents are always busy with work, so I decided to ask them if I could go on my own. When I first asked them they did not give me an answer so I kept on asking them until they finally gave me the final answer I was waiting for. I was only going to stay in the UK for one week but I extended my trip for another week.

During my second day, my uncle drove me and my boyfriend to see two castles. I love castles so much, every time my family and I go to a different county or country we always have to go see a castle. We first went to Caernarfon Castle. We spent hours walking around the place to take in how awe-inspiring the place was. The weather was not the best, there was no sun and it did rain a little bit but that did not stop us from having a good time.

After leaving Caernarfon Castle we went straight to Conwy Castle. We did not go inside the castle, we just stayed outside and took pictures. My boyfriend took me to see the Smallest House in Great Britain. We went inside, and yup it was small. The last resident of the house was a 1.91m fisherman, the house was too small for him to even stand up straight. After walking around we decided to go home, we stopped by somewhere to buy lunch. After we ate lunch we just stayed inside the house and watch netflix. By the way, I started watching American Horror Story and it's so good.

I did not bring the camera I usually take pictures with for my blog so I just used my phone. I am terribly sorry that I do not have pictures of Conwy Castle.

Weekend Getaway Travel Essentials

I recently teamed up with HomeAway to create a list of my top five essentials that I need for a trip to the beach for my blog. If I could go somewhere with my friends or family right now I would definitely go to County Galway. Dog's bay beach in Co. Galway is probably one of the most beautiful beaches in Ireland. I will definitely go there this summer. If you guys want some more cool vacation ideas, check out this article on some great vacation ideas

I love sunglasses and hats so much. Fashion is very important to me, even though you're just going to the beach to relax I still think it's important to have some accessories. I seriously cannot live without music, so to be able to relax I will need to listen to music. Flip flops, maybe cute flip flops, I think everyone knows that it is very important to bring a pair to the beach. A big beach towel where you can sit while listening to music or reading a fashion magazine. Sunscreen is very important if you're going to be out in the sun all day!

Grosgrain-Band Floppy Straw Hat

ALEX AND ANI

I did not know anything about the brand Alex And Ani until last year. But when I saw the jewelries they sell I instantly fell in love with them. This is my very first Alex and Ani jewelry.

My family and I went to a family event last month. I saw my mom's friend's Alex and Ani's bracelet and I loved it so much. I asked my mom to buy me a bracelet from Alex and Ani that night but we never really talked about it after. When my birthday came my family's friends came over for dinner. My mom's friend gave me an Alex and Ani bag, and I was so surprised and happy that I wanted to open the gift in front of everyone. After my birthday dinner celebration, I opened the box and I saw the beautiful Emerald birthstone charm bangle. I fell in love with it immediately. I love Emerald, not just because it is my birthstone. I used to watch the movie Wizard of Oz as much as I could, and I love the play Wicked. When I think of Wizard of Oz and Wicked, it reminds me of Emerald (Probably because of the Emerald City).

I am very glad that this is the very first thing I own from Alex and Ani.
